I love visualizations. Wordle makes “word clouds” out of passages or collections of text. These don’t necessarily communicate a lot of meaning, but I am fascinated by the ability of the algorithms to create beauty - the arrangements look, well, designed, regardless of input or typeface. There’s some good visual rules at play here.
