Saturday Blogwad

Ok, not much time to post this morning (I must get a haircut. So out of control!), before my nephew's basketball game. Some quick bites:

  • Tried out Aperture 2.0, which I wasn't expecting until later this year. It's a huge improvement, and addresses nearly all the complaints I had earlier.
  • I just this week found the ProPresenter user forums - somehow I'd never noticed it was there. I had a huge backlog of feature requests and minor bug reports, and helped test some of their new beta seeds. I haven't been this excited about an app in a long time. It's a joy to use (99.99% of the time) and has opened a whole new world of event production to me. There's certain apps that are game-changers, the ones we recall changing our lives or careers for those of us who live in the digital world. Short list: Photoshop (2.0!), Freehand 3, Dreamweaver, Flash (paid the bills for 5 years), Vegas 3 (video editing), Aperture and now ProPresenter. Game changers all.
  • Last weekend I took the older two kids cross-country skiing for the first time. They both loved it! I miss the snow, and mountain life, so much.
  • I'm going to be shooting some video stock - loops, especially - for our Festival in August. I'm hoping to capture the classics (the Waterfront, fountain, river, hills, etc.) but also going to try and get some unusual but distinctive angles. I leave you with a question: what scenes or images come to you when you think of Portland?
  • Kristi: Still foxy.

I think of the awesome split-second views of downtown/river that you can get from the bridges and overpasses.

What about the “Made In Oregon” sign?

“Made in Oregon” - Good idea! I actually have footage of that already for a documentary I worked on.
