Things have been rather quiet in this corner of the blogosphere lately. The three or four of you that read my writings here know that usually means that Allan’s heads-down in work, which holds true at the moment. I’ve been on Amelia Island, Florida for the last week, and next week I head back to Tampa Bay for the Luis Palau Festival there.
There has been, however, no shortage of events and people worth writing about. I’ve met amazing and hyper-talented people; seen beautiful and ugly places; fellowshipped and worshipped with old and new friends; heard voices of wisdom and encouragement, along with words that stung; been close to family and separated by many miles. My wife has written me some profoundly moving letters this week that I will not share with you, but treasure forever in my heart and memory. I’ve held other peoples babies and missed my own. I’ve seen older kids - siblings - and watched them play and hug on each other and seen the future of my own children (I hope!).
It’s not much, really - just life. But it’s a life I’m continually amazed at in its richness, depth, and pain. Thank you, Lord, for everything in this life, especially the things that bring us closer to Thee.
