BigDog Quadruped Robot; Inevitable Spoof

When I saw this video of the BigDog quadruped robot last week, I was awed and a little spooked.

I thought at the time, well, it kinda looks like two guys tied together with a giant fly head. Weird, but kinda cool. I suppose you could put a gun on it, which might be handy. This is how Skynet gets started, so watch out.

But this morning, I nearly shot my coffee out my nose when I saw this sendup of the robot:

Laughed so hard I cried. Also: “Sweded” cardboard movies (Tron, Star Wars).

Oh man! Tim and I just laughed till it hurt. The first is pretty crazy and creepy. The second is hilarious! Where is Sarah Connor when we need her?

I just love the way they added the buzzing robot motor noise to the live action one. That simple thing just made it instantly hilarious.

The kick was classic, too. I wish they’d taken it further, copying the tethered robotic shots and the ‘leaping goat’ shots. The ice would have been funny, too.

The noise was great! We liked the part of the spoof video where the “dog” was jumping up and down on the people on the bench! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

OMG… I saw the original the day it was released via the tech blogs but I hadn’t seen this until now! I can NOT stop laughing!  Thanks for sharing this!!
