The (Amazing) Assistant Editor

taeHere’s one demo we saw at NAB that blew minds. The concept is simple, and builds upon your existing process. For writers, directors, and producers of documentaries, I think this Aussie delight will soon be standard equipment. In a nutshell, it auto-builds timelines to explore, according to keywords you want to explore in your project. It’s hard to explain; watch the movie for a concrete walkthrough in 81 seconds.

If you plan ahead, and add good log notes, it all rolls from there. We saw him demo it live, and it was amazing.

Update: Phillip Hodgetts wrote me a note, and said that the product is shipping. There’s two flavors, you can read more about it on his site. There’s some nice examples of how it works, as well.

Allan,

Thanks for noticing and writing about it. We appreciate it. We loved the (Amazing) subtitle.

Cheers

Philip

Phillip, it was indeed amazing. It’s perfect for the short-form documentaries we produce. We are looking forward to seeing some pricing.

We expect it to retail at US $295.

Philip

Phillip, thanks for following up. While it’s a tad more than I hoped for, it’s reasonable for what you get. Best wishes with it!
